The Gardner Loot

In March 1990, 13 objects, worth an estimated $500m, were taken from Boston’s Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum, including paintings by Manet and Vermeer. It has been called the highest value peace-time property theft in history. The works are still missing, despite the reward for their recovery having been recently raised from $5m to $10m. Word is that those who know where the art is stashed have died, so it is a matter of luck if and when they will be stumbled upon.
